About Potomac Valley Brick and Supply Company
In 1976, Alan Richardson, his father, and two other gentlemen founded Potomac Valley Brick which quickly became the leading supplier of masonry materials in the Washington Metropolitan area. In 1985, a 4.2 acre facility was built in Newington, VA. In 1992, PVB opened another stocking location in Rockville, MD. In 1996, PVB expanded into the Baltimore market by purchasing a 10 acre facility on Yellow Brick Rd. And in 2009 PVB purchased and is currently working toward operating a fourth facility in Frederick, MD. Alan Richardson, current president and sole owner, has continued the tradition of industry leadership by serving as the only distributor to ever hold the position as chairman of the national Brick Industry Association. Alan’s philanthropic efforts can be seen through his major contributions to local organizations, including Rebuilding Together Montgomery County. Additionally, through Alan’s ambition and strategic partnerships, PVB has attracted the industries finest and most prestigious brick lines. Potomac Valley Brick is currently the largest, privately owned, masonry products supplier in the mid-Atlantic region. Alan Richardson is a husband and father of five children. He strives to maintain balance between the dedication to his family and the successful continued growth of his company. Today, Potomac Valley Brick remains recognized as the leader in the brick and masonry supply industry by providing an unmatched level of service and commitment to his customers, suppliers and employees.
