BrickStainable Award Winners Honored During Ceremony at National Building Museum

Cambridge Professor Alan Short Delivers “world tour” keynote address

ROCKVILLE, MD—April 6, 2011— Innovative thinkers from across the globe gathered in Washington, DC to recognize the winners of the 2nd Annual BrickStainable International Design Competition.

Competition winners created sustainable architectural designs using brick as the primary material. Potomac Valley Brick hosted the Awards Ceremony at the National Building Museum, an apropos location, given it is constructed with over 15 million bricks. Among nearly 200 guests included representatives from the EPA Energy Star Program, Integrated Environmental Solutions, Enterprise Green Communities, and the Brick Industry Association.

And the BrickStainable Winners Are...

Potomac Valley Brick awards two grand prize winners and five honorable mentions in its second sustainable design competition.

ROCKVILLE, MD—February 15, 2011— Potomac Valley Brick will award a $10,000 grand prize in the Integrated Building Design Category to Jamillah Muhammad and her team at Perkowitz & Ruth in Virginia (USA). And a It will also award  a $7,500 grand prize in the Technical Design category to Kelly Winn and his team at the Center for Architecture Science and Ecology (CASE) in New York (USA).

Potomac Valley Brick Wins USGBC-MD Award for Sustainable Design Competition

Masonry Distributor Recognized with Wintergreen Award for Excellence in Green Building Leadership

ROCKVILLE, MD—February 7, 2011—Potomac Valley Brick was recently recognized as  a Market Transformation Leader with a Wintergreen Award for Excellence in Green Building for its creation of the BrickStainable Design Competition. The Maryland Chapter of U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC-MD) honored the award winners at a ceremony at the Thames Street Wharf in Baltimore.
